Abstract: | The world energy demand is expected to increase by 35 percent by 2030 from2005 levels. This increase in demand is driven predominantly by growingpopulation and economic growth in developing countries, even with substantialefficiency gains in all regions.The potential of renewable energy sources is enormous as they can in principle meetmany times the world’s energy demand. Renewable energy sources such as biomass, wind, solar,hydropower, and geothermal can provide sustainable energy services, based on the use of routinely available, indigenous resources (Antonia V. Herzog). TAM, a widely used model in management of information systems The goal of TAM was to offer a parsimonious explanation of the determinants of adoption that would be general enough for application to usage behavior across a wide range of technology innovations (Davis, Bagozzi,&Warshaw, 1989)These factors are identified through previous research and each one measured based on 5- point interval scale. Using primary data collection method, 90 questionnaires were distributed to respondances who have adopted renewable energy resources among households. The study made use of measures and these measures were factor analyzed into 2 constructs such as Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use on adoption. A Regression model was formed by taking degree of adoption of renewable energy resources as dependent variable and Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use as independent variables. It is found from the analysis that the degree of adoption significantly depends on the factors influencing the adoption of Renewable Energy Resources. |
